I don’t think you ever understood how much you hurt me. The way your words were soft once, and now they’re forced and oozing lies. You didn’t see any use in me anymore after I became broken to you. My heart shattered, but you left me to fall to the ground, where I cried until my tears soaked into the Earth beneath me and began to grow roots. They grew strong; my roots had the strength that I didn’t. When I was standing again, I had flowers growing in my hair and life in my eyes like you’d never seen before. You came running back, but now I don’t think I want you under my shade anymore. Just your presence wilts my flowers and dulls my light.
